We've begun our current topics/mixed media project! Students have spent the last few days designing their first layer of imagery from newspaper cut-outs related to their theme or topic.
On the last few days together before students moved on to our next exploratory classes, we decided to work collaboratively. Students freely drew with charcoal and chalk on a very large paper. We just drew and talked about what was happening during the entire process, cool lines, interesting light and shades, and messy hands...it was so much FUN!
Below are some wonderful examples of students using their own digital art to start original mixed media work!
You can see at this week's art show! See Important Notices for Details!
Kids are starting to play around with tools and techniques on photoshop...we are REALLT EXCITED to see them begin work on their photos!
Layers!! Students are warming up with these photo collage/mixed media "studies". Next they'll be incorporating their own photos into a digital art/mixed media piece!
8th Grade is prepping to begin their Surrealist Sculptures. After looking at Surreal works of art, the class did this warm-up activity: students were given 2 post it notes. One with a mood, and one with a person or thing. Kids had to combine the two ideas and draw or collage a surreal piece of art. Here are a few exames from today!
